Collection États Poétiques | Chanel | Fall 2014

The latest makeup collection by Chanel for Fall 2014 is all about intense passion and tender romanticism at the same time. Signifying Gabrielle Chanel’s fascination with poetry, the collection has aptly been named COLLECTION ÉTATS POÉTIQUES where there is both drama and subtlety. There are deep tones as well as pearly light ones.
The collection will be available in India from the 18th of August, 2014 onwards. The products that I received from the COLLECTION ÉTATS POÉTIQUES to try out were:

Here is more about all these gorgeous makeup products, how I used them on myself, how they look on me and how I found them to be.

ROUGE COCO SHINE { Hydrating Sheer Lipshine } – 96 AURA

COLLECTION ÉTATS POÉTIQUES | Chanel | | lipstick shade
This super moist lipstick in a deep plum shade is a bit deceptive in it looks. It does not deliver a heavy plum color. Instead it has a lot of sheen to it and gives just a slight hint of plum to your lips. The lipstick sure does look scary and goth-perfect but on using it you realize that its very classy and fit for evening-wear. Even if you build it up in 2-3 applications, your lips will never look vampish plum.
Very hydrating, the lipstick lasted for about half a day for me with meals, drinks etc. And my lips were soft to touch even by the end of it.

OMBRE ESSENTIELLE { Soft Touch Eyeshadow } – 112 PULSION
COLLECTION ÉTATS POÉTIQUES | Chanel | | eye shadow
This powder eyeshadow in a similar plum/purplish color is quite dramatic and I see myself using it mostly for night outs and parties. After you apply it, the purple is not very in-your-face. Rather, it almost seems like a deep grey eye shadow and blends very well if you are looking for a smokey look.
Super easy to apply, this eye shadow is great on its own as well. Here you will see that I have applied it all over my eye lid and its gives a deep and dramatic look to my eyes.

LE VERNIS { Nail Colour } – 631 ORAGE
COLLECTION ÉTATS POÉTIQUES | Chanel | | nail colour
The 631 Orage nail color is my favourite part from this collection. Its a mysterious deep grey, maybe blue, sort of black color that I can’t really put into words. And rightly so ‘Orage’ in French means a storm, which is exactly what this nail color looks like.
One coat of this however will never suffice. 2 is the minimum number of coats you need for the true color of the nail paint to show. 3 would be even better. In the photographs I am wearing 2 coats. Its black but not quite. I love it!

ÉCRITURE DE CHANEL { Eyeliner Pen Effortless Definition } – 10 NOIR
COLLECTION ÉTATS POÉTIQUES | Chanel | | eyeliner pen

COLLECTION ÉTATS POÉTIQUES | Chanel | | tip of eyeliner
This new eyeliner by Chanel is water-based and gives quite an impressive precise finish which makes this a makeup kit essential for me. I have previously only used the Lakme pen liner and the Chanel one is better than that for sure. The eyeliner will last you all day long. The eyeliner pen is available in two classic and intense shades – NOIR and BRUN.

Even though most of these products would better suit an evening look, I actually wore them for a day look. What do you think?
Hope you enjoyed this post. Watch out for the entire COLLECTION ÉTATS POÉTIQUES by Chanel in stores from 18th August, 2014.
