You can literally take a whiff of the profound romance that exudes off of Ritu Kumar garments. THAT is how much I have always been in love with her and her work. While a lot of people may say she lacks the radical ‘newness; that a lot of designers belonging to the younger generation bring to Indian Fashion, she really doesn’t need to. Thats exactly what sets her apart. She has been here since the birth of fashion in India and the fact that she is still here shows that she knows her business has stayed true to her sensibility over all these years. She is Ritu Kumar.
Since we both are such avid fans of her work we thought of bringing something new to our #Stylaned features. So in this one you will see garments from her very new, very fresh Spring/Summer 2013 collection that she showcased as part of the recently concluded Grand Finale at The Wills India Fashion Week.
These have been such rushed and busy days of being trigger happy on the camera and then wondering who is going to edit all those photographs afterwards. We are working at our best paces. So do look out for a lot more coming your way!
These were 2 of my favourite looks from her ‘Art Deco’ inspired collection. I instantly fell in love with the almost tribal maxi skirt paired with the beaded backless shirt and that sunset-yellow color of the second dress.
Enough talk. Here goes…
