Pinning Mania Access – A Taste

So with the much hyped craze about Pinterest, I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about and boy did I get hooked! I am still very new with Pinterest but I love being on it. Its my make believe world but besides that it actually does inspire me in so many ways – to take up personal projects that I never would have had time for before, experimenting with trends I would have never wandered near before, make-up tips and even huge motivation for fitness! Enough words – Pinterest is more about pictures so heres a little bit of my Pinterest to maybe get you hooked!
Meanwhile do’nt forget to follow me too! Akanksha Redhu on Pinterest.

The Shopper’s Brigade & a Neon Necklace

I always try and dress in basics while going out shopping to make it easier to visualize how a certain garment or accessory will look with anything else in my closet. If I over-crowd myself with complex prints or patterns and silhouettes it gets tough for me to mix n match in my head. So I , by forceful habit now, stick to basics like a plain white tee, neutral bottoms and if I absolutely must indulge myself, I add a kooky accessory or shoes which can be removed instantly.

Artic Maxim Cover Girl Night

A swag party by Artic Vodka to celebrate the MAXIM Cover Girl, in this case, Gul Panag was as good as any Thursday Night could get! A packed club – The Guvment, Bristol Hotel, Gurgaon; loads of alcohol, food and people! There was even a small ramp show but the star of the evening was ofcourse the ever gorgeous and fantastically toned Gul Panag. I really need to grab my own copy of MAXIM coz I cud’nt get enough of her!

Drinks and Canvas Green

The colored denim trend has been raging for quite a while now. I have’nt dipped my pretty legs in all available colors. But the 2 colors that do happen to really work for me are Canvas Green which im wearing in this post and Coral which you will pobably see in another one. Just the deviation from the usual indigo denim color makes the denims somehow appear lighter and bearable for summer-wear. Plus I love color!

Summer in a Tie-Dye

It has been, not what seems like but literally, AGES since I did my last outfit post. Had sort of lost my way but found it! Well here goes.
Im sure it won’t be news if I told the that Delhi summers are nothing to be joked about! Its merciless. The heat travels in a wave and if you aren’t prepared you are caught like Bambi in headlights.
Recently there was the #SuperSaturday sale at VeroModa, Only and Jack&Jones with a flat 60% off on everything, just for that day. Needless to say, I had to be there.

Secret Life: A Day In a Pair of Steve Madden Shoes

“We dance round in a ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and knows.” – Robert Frost
As an experiment with a pair of absolutely gorgeous Steve Madden heels as a part of their Red Shoe Soiree, I wore the heels for an entire day just to see what all the heels are exposed to in my life- the places, the people, the gossip, the scandals and everything in between.

The Weekend Getaway – Neemrana

It had been so so long…well not all that long….but *seemed like forever* long since I had taken a break. From work, the city, the traffic, the daily chores, the deciding what to eat, the deciding what NOT to eat, the obsessing some more about work, the television….
And ofcourse his birthday was coming over the weekend, so it was there staring at me – the idea of getting away for the weekend.

Make-up Diaries – Beauty Basics

I am definitely no pro when it comes to make-up but I have been lucky enough to have picked up on a few good tips, tricks and basics through the years. Sarting with my very first time with make-up, my 10th grade farewell party. A complete disaster make-up-wise no doubt. But after a week of shame I learnt to pick myself up and experiment some more.
Here just a quick roundup of the basic stuff that you’ll find in my case

Summer Love – Flea by Nite!

Went to the Flea by Nite by Cosmopolitan Magazine recently held at Olive Bar & Kitchen, Mehrauli. The place was packed, people having a good time and even better drinks. The stalls were done up pretty and the products ranged from summer garments, to accessories to shoes and bags. Fun filled night.

Lifestyle Pakistan Gala Dinner

It was definitely a good feeling to be a part of the celebrations of the launch of ‘Lifestyle Pakistan’ – a fashion, music and food extravaganza from Pakistan at the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi. To become a part of Pakistani traditional design, not very different from our own, but you could feel those small hints of deviation from our own sensibilities, not only in the garments and embroideries and patterns but also ofcourse the gorgeous food!

I Dream of Shoes

Theres something about the beginning of summers…you want to completely change your wardrobe and shop ALL the time! Ofcourse you can’t leave shoes far behind.
Now I dont have a bank balance that can afford these shoes…or even one for that matter! But a girl can dream.
So here is a selection of shoes that im currently day dreaming about and obsessing over. It almost seems like a mirage in the sheer heat of the season though.

Fashmob – Lecoanet Hemant

It was a close gathering of fine people from the fashion fraternity and the employees of Lecoanet Hemant for the showcasing of their Summer 2012 Collection. People were mingling, sipping on wine, eating some cheese when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, quite like a ‘fLashmob’ but not quite either…women…wearing the new collection, walked into the foyer area. Women with real bodies and real faces and real personalities. Right from Lecoanet Hemant’s employees to designers, entrepreneurs and more, women from all walks of life showcased the collection in what was a brilliant and id say bold concept. I could see Hemant written all over this idea. And that is why I have so much respect for the guy.

Beer Much? – Striker Pub & Brewery

When its a Sunday and you work five days a week, you tend to make the absolute most of it – by forced habit. So naturally I turn to my best friend – BEER. And what better place to have it than Striker, in Gurgaon, where i’d like to think that its freshly brewed just for me on Sundays…
This time they were out of Jazzy Light so we had Weiss Blues…yummy in my tummy!

Uma Gawd Performs at Cheri

Uma Gawd is a very well known London based Drag-Artist who was in town to perform as part of her ‘Dragged Around The World’ Tour and it was an entertaining delight to watch her move, sing, dance and capture everyones attention at Cheri, the restaurant at One Qutab.

We were lucky enough to have been blessed with pleasant weather but Uma took the heat to another level. As a finale Uma sang and performed to ‘Shiela ki jawani’ as well.
Here are some pics from the lovely evening:
