Chanel has recently introduced a new spirit of make-up called ‘Les Beiges’ that is meant to be basic, non-fussy and easy to use – like a breath of fresh air. The products are literally supposed to give a ‘healthy glow’ & the appearance of a fresh and youthful complexion that personifies the radiance of sun-kissed skin. The 2 products that I received from this collection were Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Colour Powder N° 01 & Les Beiges Healthy Glow Fluid N° 40 and after having used them for about 2 months here is how I found them to be. Towards the end of the post you will also see how both the products look on my skin together. Please note – I have a combination-oily skin type prone to acne.
Les Beiges All-In-One Healthy Glow fluid SPF 15 in N° 40
~ It comes in a packaging of 30 ml priced at approx. ₹ 3,000/- and will last you about 2-3 months of regular usage once a day.
~ This Fluid is EXACTLY what its name suggests – A healthy glow fluid. It provides a radiant glow, almost as if you have spent the past days relaxing under the sun. Nothing more and nothing less. The product is an illuminator, not a foundation (coverage is too less) and not even a tinted moisturizer.
~ Although the fluid appears to be heavily tinted, it provides very little coverage and is certainly not enough to cover marks on the skin. It can be used as a base to even out the skin-tone and then further coverage can be applied.
~ Texture is that of a luxurious liquid cream that glides on the skin very easily and has a strong fragrance. The sequence in its blending followed by some close ups.
~ I apply the fluid with my fingers on my bare face and blend it using my fingers as well. After applying the product, you need to give it a few minutes to completely settle in and then only will you be able to see the difference in the complexion that this product makes.
~ If you are looking for more coverage you need to apply a foundation or a concealer on top of this fluid.
-> It contains an SPF 15 so on days you can’t seem to find the time, energy or even the interest for makeup, you can just apply this on your face just like a moisturizer and that’s it. That’s all you will need for a warm glow, evened out complexion and a sheer base. No sunscreen over it either.
-> It contains a hyaluronic acid derivative for making sure your skin will have enough moisture to defend itself.
-> Its oil-free and non-comedogenic which makes it suitable for acne-prone skin. Win for me!
-> Very travel friendly tube packaging.
-> It provides very little coverage so you have to apply more product if you want to cover those imperfections.
-> The fragrance is quite strong which will probably discourage people from using it too often.
Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Colour Powder SPF 15 in N° 01
~ This compact comes in a tri color of highlighter, sculpting powder and blush and is priced at approx. ₹ 4,000/-
~ It is a limited edition product that is available in 2 shades only.
~ The best way to use this product is to blend all 3 colors with a large brush and apply it as a finishing powder for an overall warm glow and radiance.
~ You could also use each color separately as a highlighter, overall glow and blusher but I personally find that to be quite a cumbersome and difficult task because the product pan is smaller than it seems and its tough to get just the one color on your brush. Its much eaiser to swirl your brush all over and use it as a lovely finishing touch.
-> It is a lovely finishing powder that sets your makeup and adds a bit of an illuminating touch to the face.
-> The chic packaging
-> The brush that comes on top of the pan is a lovely soft brush and can actually be used to apply the product onto the face.
-> The product does not provide much color. It is only effective in providing a bit of sheer
-> The pan is smaller than it appears which limits the usage of the individual colors in the pan.
-> Its a bit pricey. You can get many different, and better finishing powders for a lot less.
And this is how both the products look when applied on my face. I began with a base of the fluid followed by a full coverage Stila concealer in places I needed it and finished off with the multi-color powder (all blended) and applied all over the face. This was for an evening look.
I hope this review was helpful. I would love to know your thoughts if you have used these products personally.
